W. Andrew Powell has been writing about entertainment, travel, food and style since 2001 when he founded The GATE, an online entertainment magazine based in Toronto.
Since then, he has covered some of the biggest events in North America including the Toronto International Film Festival, which he has covered for fifteen years to date; the Consumer Entertainment Show (CES) in Las Vegas; E3 in Las Angeles; and numerous regional and nationally important events across Canada.
In addition to writing and editing, he is also an accomplished photographer and videographer, with over 3.5 million video views on YouTube across both of his channels. His videos include travel logs, product reviews, and celebrity interviews with filmmakers, actors, producers, writers, and other talent in film and television.
To date, he has interviewed numerous celebrities, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Ron Howard, Rob Reiner, Cary Elwes, Terence Davies, Brian De Palma, Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Jon Stewart, Priyanka Chopra, Colin Farrell, Emily Blunt, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Smith, Jesse Eisenberg, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ernie Hudson, Anthony Daniels, Brad Bird, Josie Ho, and many more.
Andrew is a passionate journalist and blogger and he is interested in the world and the stories people have to tell. He is also well-travelled and always excited to see more of the world. To date his travels have included Turks and Caicos, Scotland, France, Italy, Mexico, Aruba, and all over Canada and the United States.

Andrew has also appeared as a media expert on CTV News Network, as well as a number of radio stations, and syndicated social channels. His syndicated film reviews also ran in local newspapers across Canada.
